Auction Firm Manager Position
We are extremely excited to announce that we are launching a new division of our company strictly focusing on personal property & estate auctions in the Cincinnati area. With this addition we are looking to hire for the position of Auction Firm Manager. What is a "Auction Firm Manager? This is a person whom assumes responsibility over the auction firm and conducts day-to-day operations pertaining to the entire auction process on behalf of clients. Every client's needs are unique and so are the items being handled through auction. This gives us the ability to greatly help our clients while at the same time facilitating the sale of their possessions to find those pieces happy new homes.

- Extremely high moral compass- Trust is crucial in this industry!
- Prefer some existing auction knowledge, but not a necessity
- Must be energetic and adaptable
- Prefer some experience in sales, but not mandatory
- High school diploma or greater education
*Must pass the Ohio Auction Firm Test to become licensed and continue to maintain good standing status*

Job Information:
Reports To: Directly to Ownership
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Hamilton County and surrounding areas)
Employment Classification: Non-Exempt (unless later reclassified by counsel)
Compensation: Commission, 50% of earned commission from each auction, plus any approved reimbursements
Compensation Continued: If commissions do not surpass hourly minimum wage per calendar month, manager will be paid out at the minimum wage rate as required by Ohio law.
Bonus Ability: If Auction Firm Manager sells more than $25,000 in gross merchandise in a single calendar month, a $500 bonus will be awarded
Work Schedule: Variable; includes evenings, weekdays, weekends, and auction days as required
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, and handle auction items as needed
- Ability to stand & walk for extended periods during auction prep and auction pickup
- Willingness to travel locally to meetings/conventions with industry related professionals and client locations
​- Comfortable with working alone at times and with independence from immediate supervision
Position Duties:
Auction Firm Manager will handle all aspects of this new division of Beyond the Door Auctions including the following; Take phone calls and answer emails from prospective clients and other industry related parties, Conduct the entirety of the auction process (organize, promote, photograph, catalog, etc.), Secure and maintain valid contracts with clients, conduct in-person pre-auction evaluations, Negotiate earned commissions between Beyond the Door Auctions and it's client's, Manage auction pickups and shipments, Market our services to the local area, Ensure clients are paid in a reasonable time, Manage & schedule staff as needed, and other related tasks. Overall Expectations:
We are looking for someone who is willing to grow with us and put the effort in to help fuel future growth and development. Meeting the needs and expectations of our client's is our number one priority and we need to ensure that the person whom fills this important roll understands to uphold that value to the highest degree. Our expectations after the first three months of employment are for the Auction Firm Manager to be selling no less than $15,000 worth of gross merchandise in a single calendar month. Life is busy and we completely understand that! This position allows for flexibility in the way you set your schedule and the commissions you earn. This comes with great responsibility though and we will monitor that goals are being met as well as the needs of our client's to ensure a quality experience for all. We will pay for all your expenses related to obtaining and maintaining your Auction Firm Manager License (Testing fee, Fuel Expenses, Background Check Fees, Parking Expenses, Food Expenses, Insurance Premiums, Continuing Education, etc). This is a direct investment in you as we believe investing in our employees ensures that everyone has a positive experience and makes an everlasting impression on the communities we serve. In a way (figuratively) this is like us handing essentially half of our business to someone and we want to make sure we find the perfect person for this position to fill such a crucial role. We will directly train you on operating procedures as well as educate you on the legalities behind hosting auctions in preparation for the state exam. Ideally, we would really like to fill this role by 3/15/26.
